Pet Owner Testimonials: Several clients have been kind enough to write about their experiences at Wellspring. I thank them from the bottom of my heart, and greatly appreciate their trust in bringing their pets to me for veterinary care. Their comments are found below. Dr. Kerr
From Rebecca Rockow:
Dr. Kerr has been treating my two PONs (Polish Lowland Sheepdogs) for over a year now. Before switching to Dr. Kerr's practice, both of my dogs would panic and suffer severe gastric upset upon entering the vet's office. I knew that we had found something special when Corky and Pasha both trotted into Wellspring's front door without fear. My youngest dog Pasha is a juvenille diabetic who acquired the disease from an adverse vaccine reaction. Dr. Kerr carefully evaluated his records and my research. he has gone above and beyond the call of duty by taking the time to conduct his own additional research on my dog's health issues. We were treated with respect and compassion. I am a pet health writer for several national canine magazines and Dr. Kerr has generously consulted with me on various topics. His areas of knowledge are well rounded from traditional medicine to the entire holistic realm. he has provided me with information ranging from allergies and nutrition to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The balance of care offered at his practice has allowed me to give my dogs a better quality of life.
From Dawn Allen:
I started taking my dog Ava, a German Shepherd, to Dr. Kerr about four years ago. She had developed Pannus, a chronic inflammation of the cornea that leads to eventual blindness. Most veterinarians treat this condition with steroid eye drops, but the condition doesn't t go away, the progression of the disease is just slowed. I was not crazy about putting steroid drops in Ava's eyes for the rest of her life, so I began looking for other solutions. I found out about Dr. Kerr and called him to discuss Ava's condition. He agreed to try holistic medicine, though he had not treated a case of Pannus with holistic methods before this. Dr. Kerr understood how important it was to me for Ava to retain full sight in both eyes. The treatment he chose includes drawing Ava's blood and spinning it down in a centrifuge, then using the clear fluid (serum) as an eye drop daily. In addition, she gets regular acupuncture treatments and takes Chinese herbs to keep the disease at bay. Today, Ava is healthier than she has ever been. her eyes are beautiful, and there is no sign of Pannus lesions in either eye. Although Ava willl have to stay on this regimen for the rest of her life, she loves coming to see Dr. Kerr. There are comfortable mats for her to lie on during her treatment, with soft music playing in the background, and great treats. Usually, she goes to sleep during her acupuncture treatment, which involves placing acupuncture needles in points around her eyes. The thing I like best about Dr. Kerr is that he really, really cares about Ava and me, and he is always willing to listen to me and give serious thought and feedback to any new information I might find about Pannus. he is very open minded, and always seem to come up with just the right combinations of treatments Ava needs. I am so thankful that I met him and I know any hurdle Ava and I come upon, we can always depend on him to help us get through it.
From Mary Ann and George Robertson:
In July 2005, my husband and I were devastated with the news that our one year old female kitty, Lacey, had feline leukemia. Usually, this is a fatal condition. But we were determined to do whatever we could to save her life. Our traditional veterinarian agreed to try blood transfusions and antibiotics. lacey would rally for a few months, then have another crisis. We were trying different diets and massage therapy, among other things. Then a friend suggested trying a more holistic approach. That is when we found Dr. Brad Kerr of Wellspring Holistic Veterinary Care. There is no other way to say it except that he has saved Lacey's life. With acupuncture treatments in key body areas and the prescribing of Chinese herbs, Lacey is a sweet, vivacious cat who will be six years old soon. We continue with both holistic and traditional medicines and periodic acupuncture "tune-ups" along with vitamin B injections at acupuncture points. We firmly believe that the acupuncture and herbs have made the difference in Lacey's care. Dr. Kerr is a deeply caring person and his knowledge of alternative veterinary care is priceless. We and Lacey are deeply grateful to him.
